The whole team at Priority would like to extend a big thank-you to our community members who made this year’s “Warm Up Indy” coat drive such a success! For the fourth consecutive year, we partnered with Wheeler Mission to collect gently used coats, hats, scarves, and gloves, in all sizes for men, women, and children in need this winter.
Wheeler Mission is non-denominational, Christian, social services organization dedicated to providing critically needed goods and support services to individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, and need throughout Central and South Central Indiana without regard to race, color, sexual orientation, creed, national origin, or religion. Founded in 1893, Wheeler is the oldest continuously operating ministry of its kind in the state of Indiana, operating dozens of ministries out of nine individual locations. Their mission is supported by the work of nearly 200 employees and countless supporters – including the Priority community!
Once again, we were blown away by the record level of support we received throughout this year’s drive. We were able to deliver 1,400+ coats, 500+ hats, 300+ pairs of gloves, and 200+ scarves, plus assorted other accessories such as backpacks, boots, and more. Over 21 participating companies were provided with Coat Bins to collect donations during the drive period. These bins were designed, printed, assembled, and delivered by the Priority Group, completely free of charge to those who participated!
Each year, we are so touched by the success of this drive, and this year is no different. We truly believe it reflects our shared values of community care, warmth, and a dedication to having a positive impact on the lives of those around us. Thanks to the Wheeler Mission for all the work they do for our neighbors in need, and thanks to all of you for making a difference, no matter how big or small.
